Dr. Bolton is interested in addressing fundamental hadronic physics questions using both chiral perturbation theory and lattice quantum chromodynamics. He has performed an extraction of the updown quark mass difference, made predictions for yettobediscovered exotic baryon masses, and studied pionpion scattering from first principles.
